Cro-A-Ti-A Day 6
Sea Day
While on the beach at Kastel Stari, we were approached by a young man, who turned out to be a huge fan of American basketball, about booking a day long sea cruise. Given everyone had expressed an interest in this activity, we decided to go ahead so yesterday found 25 of us getting on board the M/V Horizon.

On board
We went out from port for 2 hours to our first stop, the Blue Lagoon off the island of Solta.
The water was the most exquisite shade of turquoise. I don't think this photo really does it justice. The well traveled in our group all agreed about the amazing color, and clarity, of the water. As you swam, you could look down to the bottom of the Adriatic. We also agreed that the Adriatic seems to be the saltiest of salt water. Afterward a whisp of my hair blew into my mouth, and I couldn't believe how salty it still was, even dry.
Following the Blue Lagoon, we continued on to the island of Drvenik Veli, with lunch along the way.
Speculation is that the fish is a bream. Doesn't matter, it's delicious. Last night Chef Dino also served us a cabbage slaw, and while this was not quite as yummy, it was a nice accompaniment to the meal. Wine was provided and while I don't usually drink wine with my mid-day meal, it was the coldest beverage so the adults pretty much imbibed.
By the time we returned and got back to the house, the adults wanted to rinse off and many of the kids hopped right into the pool. Dinner was leftovers from last night; a couple plates full still remain.
Today the plan is for My Friend Jeanie, Bill, Dan and I to drive to Trogir, which, as you get onto the main highway, is to the right. I am so directionally challenged here, making it often difficult to try to tell one of our party which way to go. Dan has also volunteered to make homemade pizza! He has been warned by more than a few of the adults that kids don't eat pizza, they inhale it, and we're feeding 14 kids plus adults, and he is still game! More tomorrow on how it turns out.
