My New Garage Windows
After George Floyd's murder on May 25, 2020, I lifted my outrage to a new level and began posting signs in the garage windows of our old house in Minnetonka. To whit: You get the point. At Dan's request, I didn't post signs in the apartment window. When I suggested feeling the need to get out the paint and cardboard to make signs for the very many windows we have in our townhome, he offered that I could put signs in the garage door windows, of which we have none. Humph. Honestly, I don't feel quite right about putting up my home made signs in the townhouse windows, or hanging them off the deck. At our old house, we were well established members of the community and I had a good sense that many of the views I expressed were in lines with how our neighbors felt. In fact, more than once people stopped by to tell me how much they appreciated the signs, and as Dan walked the dog and told people where we lived, they would say, "Oh, the house with the signs.
